Leveraging Your Company's Underutilized Secret Weapon

One of the most overlooked tools in the realm of hiring cleared professionals lies within your own organization – your company's cleared candidate database. These professionals often remain "hidden" in the job market, only seeking new positions when contract changes occur, managerial or team dissatisfaction arises, or a sudden move is required. Utilizing your own database can be an ace in the hole when it comes to uncovering top-cleared talent.

In my nearly two decades of experience in recruiting for cleared positions in government contracts, I've repeatedly seen recruiters bypass their databases in favor of job boards. And why not? After all, targeting someone who has just uploaded their resume to Clearance Jobs or Clearedjobs.net seems the path of least resistance. However, they also become easy prey for every other recruiter and program manager on the hunt. After you've exhausted your quick searches on cleared job boards, don't forget to deep dive into your database.

Starting and consistently maintaining your own database can be a game-changer. This insight struck me years ago when a contract recruiter I'd hired quickly outperformed many internal recruiters on the team. His secret? He brought his own cultivated database and reached out to his genuine network, bypassing the standard route of LinkedIn and job boards. If you're an internal recruiter in this space, start building your database today; it'll serve you well in the years to come.

Artificial Intelligence: The Future of Recruiting

Before we dive in, remember never to include classified or proprietary company information in any AI platform. Also, note that the landscape of AI tools changes rapidly; the platforms I mention now may evolve or be superseded in a matter of months.

ChatGPT: This platform should be a regular tool for your recruitment team. Here's why:

  • Complex Boolean Strings: ChatGPT can generate intricate boolean strings based on job descriptions. Simply copy and paste the description and ask for one or multiple boolean strings for searches.
  • Email Copywriting: Cleared professionals receive dozens of recruitment emails daily, so standing out from the crowd is vital. With ChatGPT, you can create personalized email sequences based on a candidate's resume and LinkedIn profile. While editing is still necessary, it cuts down a 10-30 minute task to mere seconds.
  • Communication with Non-responsive Hiring Managers: Ever had a hiring manager ghost you after asserting the urgency of their open positions to the company's executives? ChatGPT can help you draft professional, urgent-toned emails that communicate your concerns without burning bridges.

ChatGPT's applications are manifold for non-classified recruitment tasks, potentially saving recruiters a couple of hours per day that can be invested in fostering relationships and actual recruitment activities.

Role of Artificial Intelligence in Recruiting: Revolutionizing the Search for Cleared Talent

The recruitment landscape has seen a transformative shift with the advent of Artificial Intelligence (AI). AI is fundamentally altering the way organizations source, screen, and manage candidates, especially when it comes to hiring cleared professionals for government contracts.

1. Sourcing Cleared Professionals with AI

Traditionally, sourcing candidates, particularly those with a security clearance, has been a time-consuming and complex task. AI technology, however, has made it possible to streamline the process. AI-based platforms and sourcing tools, such as Loxo Source, SeekOut, and HireEZ, can quickly scan multiple databases, job boards, and social media platforms to identify potential candidates with the required clearances and skill sets. This significantly reduces the time and effort spent on sourcing, allowing recruiters to focus more on candidate engagement and relationship building.

2. Screening and Shortlisting Candidates with AI

The application of AI extends beyond sourcing to screening and shortlisting candidates. AI-powered tools can analyze resumes, CVs, Github, and profiles based on specific criteria such as clearance level, skills, experience, and more. These tools can efficiently process large volumes of data and provide a ranked list of candidates that best match the job requirements, helping to eliminate human biases and error while saving valuable time.

3. Candidate Relationship Management through AI

Candidate relationship management is critical when hiring cleared professionals. Given the long hiring cycles and the competitive nature of this talent market, maintaining consistent and personalized communication with potential candidates can significantly impact recruitment success. AI-powered CRM platforms can automate follow-ups and keep the candidates engaged with personalized messages, ensuring that high-value cleared professionals remain interested throughout the hiring process.

4. Predictive Analytics and AI

Another key advantage of AI in recruiting is predictive analytics. AI-powered analytics tools can predict hiring outcomes based on historical data and trends. For example, they can predict the likelihood of a candidate accepting an offer, their future performance, or their tenure at an organization. This helps make more informed decisions and plan better hiring strategies.

The role of AI in recruiting cleared professionals for government contracts is undeniably profound and transformative. By leveraging AI, organizations can not only streamline their recruitment process but also improve the quality of their hires, making it an indispensable tool in the modern recruitment toolkit.

Navigating Cleared Employment Sites

Cleared employment sites are invaluable tools for finding cleared professionals. Tailored specifically for Cleared and GovCon professionals, many of these sites restrict database access to prevent misuse by overseas recruitment teams.

ClearanceJobs - The most recognized database of cleared professionals, boasting over 1,235,000 candidate profiles. They attract over 500,000 unique monthly visitors and add over 8,000 new cleared candidates to their roster each month. Having personally used their tools for over a decade, I can attest to their efficacy.

ClearedJobs.Net - Likely the second-largest job board for cleared professionals. Note that this platform can only be used by direct hire companies; access to placement firms and headhunters is restricted.

ClearedCareers - Security Clearance Jobs.com - A growing platform for finding cleared talent. Their steady growth over the past few years makes them a viable option in your hiring process.

ClearedConnections - Another useful resource, especially when looking for professionals with unique clearance qualifications.

Making the Most of Cleared Employment Events

The cost-effectiveness and impact of job fairs for recruitment can often be a topic of debate. While they serve a valuable purpose in branding and public presence, the immediate return on investment might not be as apparent. Having attended over 100 hiring events and career fairs, I've identified the ones that provide the most value in the cleared and GovCon space:

No alt text provided for this image

reStart Cleared Virtual Fair - Embracing the era of digital recruitment, this virtual fair allows you to reach out to a wide range of potential candidates from the comfort of your office.

TECHEXPO Top Secret - This event brings together cleared professionals from the technology industry, offering a rich pool of specialized candidates.

ClearedJobs.Net Events - Organized by one of the largest cleared job platforms, these events attract a large number of candidates and provide excellent networking opportunities.

ClearanceJobs Events - Run by ClearanceJobs, these events offer access to their extensive database of cleared professionals, facilitating direct interaction with potential candidates.

Exploring General Employment Sites for Cleared Talent

Although there are countless job boards where you might find cleared professionals, identifying them can be tricky due to the lack of clearance information on resumes. Here are a few general sites where you might find success:

Monster - As one of the largest legacy databases, Monster is a reasonable source for finding cleared candidates. With its recognized name, many cleared professionals still upload their resumes here, making it a resourceful site for recruiters.

Dice - While not the best for cleared resume databases, Dice's parent company's ownership of ClearanceJobs may explain the focus shift. However, it is beneficial for finding candidates outside of the DOD or IC, thanks to its reliable filter for US Citizens who are clearable or could obtain a Public Trust.

Indeed.com - One of the newer job boards, Indeed has successfully attracted a fair share of cleared candidates, partly due to its effective advertising. Also, currently, any resume with #readytowork is a free view in their database - a plus point to remember.

ZipRecruiter Recruiter - Although my personal experience with their resume database was not successful, job postings on the site have surprisingly attracted Secret Clearance candidates. For recruiters seeking lower-level clearances, this platform could be beneficial.

CareerBuilder - This legacy database, like Monster, continues to attract candidates. Older profiles may hide some hidden gems, making it a viable resource for recruiters.

LinkedIn - LinkedIn's effectiveness improves dramatically when paired with additional sourcing tools, as detailed below.

Leveraging Sourcing Tools in Cleared Professional Recruitment

Harness the power of modern sourcing tools to complement and amplify your LinkedIn recruitment strategies. Here are some stellar tools that can significantly boost your hiring outcomes:

  • Loxo Source: Elevate your hiring process by sourcing candidates from an extensive AI-driven database.Swordfish.ai: Find quality cleared professionals with this robust contact-finding platform.hireEZ: Formerly known as Hiretual, this AI-sourcing platform can supercharge your search for cleared professionals.SeekOut: A comprehensive platform that also provides a cleared search platform for enterprise customers.SignalHire: Identify potential hires with this browser-based sourcing tool to help find contact information.

ChatterWorks: Reinforce your recruitment arsenal with this tool to find contact information.

In an effort to evaluate these tools, I conducted a trial to find TS/SCI FSP candidates, cross-referencing results with ClearanceJobs for clearance verification. You can find the results of this experiment in these two LinkedIn articles: Post1 and Post2. Even though the field is continuously evolving, these platforms remain powerful resources for sourcing cleared professionals in the government contracting space.

Contract Recruiters and Creative Recruitment Strategies for Cleared Professionals

There may be times when the size, specificity, or urgency of your government contract necessitates the hiring of contract recruiters. The DC Metro region is home to numerous talented contract recruiters who specialize in sourcing cleared professionals. If you're unfamiliar with the field, our team can guide you towards the ideal contract recruiting solutions.

After several years of contract recruiting, we noted a surprising lack of ongoing learning in this industry. While traditional recruiting fundamentals remain constant, the ways people communicate and the methods used to reach them evolve. We therefore focus on continual education for our contract recruiters, helping us stand apart from firms offering similar services.

Innovative Recruitment Strategies

As the world evolves, so too must our recruitment tactics. The global pandemic certainly forced a shift in traditional methods, shuttering on-site recruitment fairs, and launching a new era of virtual events. But this shift isn't a constraint—it's an opportunity to tap into a more extensive, even global, pool of cleared professionals.

Virtual Networking Events and Job Fairs: The convenience and accessibility of virtual events have opened new channels for hiring cleared professionals. By offering compelling, engaging online experiences, you can connect with candidates who might not have been accessible through traditional on-site events. For instance, consider hosting a webinar featuring experts in your field discussing a current hot topic. Coupling recruitment with knowledge sharing is a winning strategy.

Boolean Searching: To fully leverage the power of Internet recruiting, recruiters need to understand and utilize boolean search techniques. By applying specific operators like 'AND,' 'OR,' and 'NOT,' recruiters can precisely target potential candidates. This technique can uncover resumes and profiles that might not appear with standard search methods.  It's shocking to find many recruiters who lack basic boolean search skills. For those unfamiliar, resources like Tricia Tamkin, (She/Her)'s classes at Moore Essentials or SourceCon.  They both offer excellent learning opportunities. This type of advanced search technique can yield surprising results, leading you to candidates you may never have found otherwise.

Engaging Email Copy: Creating dynamic, engaging email content is crucial. Given the volume of recruitment emails cleared professionals receive, your communication needs to stand out from the crowd. Personalization, brevity, and a compelling call-to-action are keys to capturing the candidate's attention.

Marketing Automation: An effective follow-up system can significantly increase response rates. By using automated email sequences, you can ensure potential candidates receive timely, relevant messages without overwhelming your recruitment team's workload. With compelling copy and strategically scheduled follow-ups, you'll increase your chances of a response.

Digital Marketing: Utilizing targeted ads and sponsored content can help you reach potential hires in places you might not have previously considered. Retargeting techniques can help keep your organization at the forefront of a candidate's mind, even after they've left your website.

Teamwide Recruiting Culture: Encourage everyone within your organization to play a part in recruiting. Your current employees are some of your most valuable resources, especially those working within secured environments like SCIFs. Provide training to all staff, not just recruiters and HR, on identifying potential hires and appropriate ways to engage them. Incentivize this practice with referral bonuses to create a dynamic, company-wide recruiting powerhouse.

Outsourcing Recruiting Overseas: While it may appear cost-effective, it's crucial to understand the substantial risk associated with overseas recruiting for cleared positions. Security is paramount when dealing with cleared professionals, and outsourcing overseas introduces significant potential for data breaches.

In the end, innovative and flexible strategies can yield high dividends in the quest for top-tier cleared talent. By embracing these tactics, you can reach candidates more effectively and ensure your organization stands out in the crowded field of government contract hiring.

Recruiting and Staffing Organizations for Hiring Cleared Professionals

In the unique field of hiring cleared professionals for government contracts, having a dedicated recruitment team is vital. This is especially true when faced with situations such as confidential executive searches, tight timeframes due to surprise contract wins, or when you're grappling with complex roles while your in-house team focuses on volume hiring.

A team that understands the intricacies of this space can be invaluable. If you're looking for such a team, feel free to reach out to us or schedule a time for a chat to see if we're the right fit for your organization.

Leveraging LinkedIn to Unearth Cleared Professionals: Mastering the Art of Online Networking

As a treasure trove of potential candidates, LinkedIn has quickly risen to prominence as a crucial tool in the hiring world. For hiring managers and recruiters on the hunt for cleared professionals - from those with Secret clearances to TS/SCI with FSP (Full Scope Polygraph) - this platform can serve as a fertile hunting ground. Yet, the challenge lies not just in finding these professionals but in making meaningful connections with them, particularly those who prefer to remain 'under the radar.'

The Power of LinkedIn for Cleared Professionals

LinkedIn is unique among professional networking platforms for its depth of information and the potential connections it offers. For hiring cleared professionals, LinkedIn can be a goldmine. Yet, it's not just about sending out InMails or posting job adverts. It requires a strategic approach.

The first step lies in understanding the nuanced ways in which cleared professionals may represent themselves on LinkedIn. For example, due to the sensitive nature of their work, some individuals with high-level security clearances may limit the information they share publicly. They might use ambiguous job titles or avoid naming their exact employer. Therefore, effective LinkedIn sourcing for cleared professionals demands a keen eye for these subtleties.

Mastering LinkedIn Search

Employ the advanced search features on LinkedIn to target the right talent. Clever use of keywords related to clearance levels, job roles, and skills can help you unearth potential candidates. Additionally, exploring industry groups and discussions can lead you to individuals who, while perhaps not actively job-seeking, may be open to the right opportunity.

Engaging with Discretion

Remember, professionals with high-level clearances may be wary of unsolicited contact due to the nature of their work. So, when reaching out, it's crucial to communicate with respect, discretion, and professionalism. Begin by acknowledging their expertise, and avoid probing for sensitive information. Make your message stand out by offering value or insight that is likely to appeal to their interests or career goals.

Building Long-Term Relationships

LinkedIn is not just about immediate hiring. It's a platform that allows for relationship-building over time. By sharing relevant content, engaging with posts, and maintaining a regular presence, you can cultivate a network of cleared professionals. This way, when a suitable role does arise, you'll have an established connection and a potential candidate who is already familiar with your organization.

Recruiting Assistance

If LinkedIn sourcing proves too time-consuming or complex, consider enlisting the help of a specialist recruiting firm experienced in finding cleared talent. They will not only have a deep understanding of how to navigate LinkedIn but also possess a comprehensive network of cleared professionals to tap into.

In conclusion, LinkedIn can be a valuable tool in your hiring arsenal for finding cleared professionals, including those who prefer a low-profile approach. With a keen eye for subtleties, a strategic approach to engagement, and a focus on long-term relationship building, you can leverage LinkedIn's power to locate and attract the cleared talent your organization needs.

Legal and Compliance Considerations: Navigating the Regulations for Hiring Cleared Professionals

When hiring cleared professionals for government contracts, it's essential to understand and navigate the myriad of legal and compliance considerations involved. This isn't just about ensuring that your organization is on the right side of the law - it's about creating a fair, equitable, and inclusive hiring process.

Equal opportunity regulations are another critical consideration in the hiring process. The Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC) enforces federal laws that ensure everyone, regardless of race, color, religion, sex (including pregnancy, gender identity, and sexual orientation), national origin, age (40 or older), disability or genetic information, gets an equal opportunity to apply and be considered for jobs.

When hiring cleared professionals, it's essential to ensure your hiring practices align with these regulations. This includes having fair and unbiased job advertisements, using consistent criteria for evaluating candidates, and offering reasonable accommodations for those with disabilities, among other things.

For jobs requiring security clearance, adherence to government procedures for obtaining, maintaining, and handling clearances is crucial. The National Industrial Security Program (NISP) sets the standards and procedures for clearances and classified information. Understanding these procedures can help streamline the hiring process and avoid potential legal or compliance issues.

Additionally, it's important to understand the compliance requirements specific to your industry or the type of government contract you're working on. For example, there may be regulations related to veterans' employment, labor standards, or information security that you need to adhere to.

In conclusion, understanding and adhering to legal and compliance considerations in the hiring process isn't just about avoiding penalties or legal issues—it's a critical part of creating a fair and inclusive hiring process, which can help attract and retain the best cleared professionals for your government contracts.

Always consider seeking advice from legal and HR professionals or using compliance-ready hiring tools to ensure your hiring process meets all legal requirements and best practices. As the old saying goes, "An ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure."

Trends in Hiring Cleared Professionals: A Dynamic Landscape

The realm of hiring cleared professionals for government contracts is a dynamic one, with various trends shaping how organizations attract, engage, and retain top talent. Understanding these trends can offer valuable insights, helping to strategize and optimize your hiring process to meet the evolving demands of the job market and candidates.

  1. Remote Work and Flexibility: With the advent of the global pandemic, remote work has become not just a possibility, but a preference for many professionals, including those in the cleared sector. Despite the security challenges it may pose, organizations and government bodies have started to explore the potential of cleared professionals working remotely or with flexible hours, using secure virtual private networks (VPNs) and other technological solutions.

  1. Emphasis on Soft Skills: In addition to required clearances and technical qualifications, organizations are increasingly prioritizing soft skills, like effective communication, leadership, problem-solving, and adaptability. These skills can contribute significantly to a professional's success in complex and fast-paced government contract environments.
  2. Technological Innovations: New tools and platforms have revolutionized the sourcing and hiring process. AI-powered recruitment platforms, data analytics for strategic decision-making, and automated follow-up tools are just a few examples of the technology being leveraged to streamline recruitment, enhance candidate experience, and find the best-fit cleared professionals more efficiently.
  3. Candidate Experience: As mentioned earlier, the focus on providing a positive candidate experience is intensifying. Organizations are realizing that every touchpoint, from the job ad and application process to interviews and onboarding, needs to be respectful, clear, and engaging to attract and retain the best talent.
  4. Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI): DEI has emerged as a vital trend in hiring cleared professionals. By fostering diverse teams, organizations can tap into a wider range of perspectives, experiences, and skills, driving innovation, and enhancing decision-making. Plus, it supports compliance with equal opportunity regulations, as discussed in the previous section.
  5. Ongoing Learning and Development: Cleared professionals, like others, value opportunities for growth and development. Hence, organizations are increasingly offering continuous learning opportunities, certifications, and career advancement paths as part of their value proposition to attract and retain these high-demand professionals.

Staying abreast of these trends and understanding how they impact hiring practices is essential for any organization seeking to hire cleared professionals for government contracts. A strategic approach that incorporates these trends into your hiring practices can give you an edge in the competitive race for top cleared talent.

Retaining Cleared Professionals

Finding and hiring cleared professionals is only half the battle in the intricate dance of talent acquisition within the government contracts sector. Retaining these highly sought-after individuals poses an equally important and challenging aspect. By employing effective strategies that focus on employee engagement and retention, organizations can ensure that their cleared talent remains motivated, satisfied, and less likely to look for opportunities elsewhere.

Engagement Initiatives

The key to retaining cleared professionals starts with fostering an engaging work environment. This could range from an inclusive company culture to regular feedback and recognition programs. It's important to understand that cleared professionals, just like other employees, value a workspace that recognizes their efforts and respects their ideas. Organizational activities, team-building exercises, and employee resource groups can further encourage engagement, providing opportunities for these professionals to interact and engage with their peers outside of work tasks.

Career Development Opportunities

Career development opportunities significantly influence a cleared professional's decision to stay within an organization. Offering clear pathways for career advancement, professional development programs, or opportunities to work on challenging projects can all contribute to higher retention rates. It's vital for organizations hiring cleared professionals to regularly review and communicate these opportunities, ensuring that their talent feels valued and sees a future within the organization.

Competitive Compensation and Benefits

Competitive compensation and benefits packages remain a fundamental aspect of retaining cleared talent. This goes beyond just a good salary. A comprehensive benefits package including health insurance, retirement plans, and perks such as flexible working hours or remote work options can make your organization a desirable place for cleared professionals to build their careers.

Supportive Management

Supportive management plays an indispensable role in employee retention. Clear communication, constructive feedback, and recognition for good work are all qualities of supportive management. For cleared professionals, who often work on sensitive and high-stakes projects, having a supportive manager who appreciates their work and challenges can significantly boost job satisfaction and hence, retention.

Work-Life Balance

Promoting a healthy work-life balance is essential for retaining cleared professionals. Considering the sensitive nature of their work, these professionals can often face high stress levels. Providing flexible working conditions, encouraging time off, and offering support for mental health can help ensure that your cleared professionals stay with your organization longer.

In conclusion, while hiring cleared professionals might be challenging due to the limited talent pool, retaining them can be achieved through effective engagement and retention strategies. With a focus on employee satisfaction, career development, competitive compensation, supportive management, and work-life balance, organizations can significantly enhance their retention of cleared talent.

Harnessing the Power of Team Referrals: Turning Your Organization into a Recruitment Powerhouse

A successful strategy for hiring cleared professionals doesn't end with your dedicated recruiters. It involves everyone on your team – from project managers to those in the SCIF (Sensitive Compartmented Information Facility). Indeed, referrals from your existing team members can often yield the highest quality candidates, particularly for positions requiring security clearance. Here, we delve into how you can turn each team member into a potential recruiter and create an organization-wide culture of recruitment.

Hiring from Within the SCIF

In the world of cleared professionals, your existing team members working within SCIFs have a unique advantage. They operate within the same circle as potential candidates, often communicating and collaborating with them daily. Given their existing relationships and understanding of the professional landscape, they can identify and connect with potential candidates who may be a perfect fit for your organization but who may not be easily reached by traditional recruitment methods.

Empowering Hiring Managers

It's important to remember that hiring managers for government contracts aren't just responsible for supervising teams – they can also be crucial in recruiting cleared professionals. They understand the intricacies of their projects and the precise skills needed better than anyone else. By encouraging them to take an active role in the recruitment process, you're effectively creating an extension of your HR or recruiting team who are deeply embedded in the world of cleared professionals.

However, this doesn't mean you should let them go it alone. Provide them with support and resources to effectively engage potential hires. Training sessions on how to effectively sell the benefits of your organization, understand candidate motivations, and follow compliance protocols can make all the difference.

Creating a Culture of Recruitment

Recruiting cleared professionals shouldn't rest solely on the shoulders of your recruiters or HR team. Instead, adopt a strategy where everyone is encouraged to participate in the hiring process. Empower your employees to continually scout for talent, whether at industry events, during collaborations, or even in their personal networks.

This culture of recruitment should be paired with a robust referral program. Offering incentives such as referral bonuses not only motivates your team to engage in recruitment but also shows appreciation for their efforts. Make sure to communicate the details of the program clearly and highlight the successes and rewards earned by employees who participate.

In conclusion, by leveraging the unique insights and networks of your existing team, you can reach a pool of cleared professionals otherwise inaccessible through traditional recruiting. Empowering hiring managers and creating an inclusive culture of recruitment can significantly increase your chances of finding, attracting, and retaining top cleared talent for your government contracts.

Conclusion: The Art of Securing Cleared Talent

As we navigate through the intricacies of hiring cleared professionals, from those with Secret clearances to those who have a TS/SCI with a Full Scope Polygraph, it becomes abundantly clear that this endeavor requires a blend of diligent effort, precise strategy, and a touch of creativity.

Unearthing such specialized talent isn't merely about advertising job openings or merely skimming through stacks of resumes. It's a multifaceted journey that often starts with a deep understanding of the specific needs of government contracts and a solid grasp of the stringent security clearance protocols.

Our discussion has underlined the importance of using advanced sourcing tools like LinkedIn and other online platforms, each offering unique ways to tap into the cleared talent pool. We also recognized the value in harnessing the expertise of contract recruiters, those professionals steeped in the world of security clearance recruitment, who can effectively navigate its complexities.

We delved into the importance of improving candidate experience, legal and compliance considerations, and the ever-evolving trends that mold the landscape of cleared professional hiring. We have also noted the profound impact of Artificial Intelligence on the recruitment industry, with its ability to streamline and enhance the hiring process.

Moreover, we've addressed the pivotal role of professional networking, demonstrating how platforms like LinkedIn can be used effectively even when searching for those elusive, high-security clearance candidates. And while hiring is a significant part of the equation, retaining these cleared professionals is equally, if not more, vital, requiring targeted strategies for employee engagement and retention.

In our pursuit of cleared talent, we must remember that these individuals are not just mere candidates filling roles but are professionals holding the key to national security. This understanding underscores the need for maintaining the highest standards and professionalism throughout the hiring process.

Ultimately, securing cleared talent, be it Secret or TS/SCI with Full Scope Polygraph, is no small feat. However, with the right strategies, effective tools, and an unwavering commitment to excellence, it's a mission entirely within reach. Let's continue to adapt, evolve, and grow in our efforts to navigate this unique hiring landscape successfully.
