"Master P: From Hip-Hop Mogul to President of Basketball Operations"

If you've never heard of New Orleans native, rapper, businessman,
entrepreneur Percy Miller; better known as Master P, allow me to give
him flowers and admiration. A man whose upbringing in New Orleans;
during that time was known as "murder capital of the world" with crime
ridden streets and inner city violence.
Miller rose from the ashes to become a multi-platinum selling rapper,
founding No Limit Records during its peak in the 1990s and 2000s.
Business mogul while launching several ventures and breaking the mold
Black America had been craving for. A man of faith, integrity, and role
model for inner city youth.

Basketball has always been apart of Miller's life; going back to his early
days of finding his lane in New Orleans. Being given a scholarship to
University of Houston before a knee injury ended his basketball career.
He made a comeback in the late 1990s and had short stints with the
Toronto Raptors and Charlotte Hornets; but the game had evolved since
he last played. Even playing in the short-lived CBA League.
To his coaching days of AAU team "P. Miller's Ballers; which won three
national championships. Future NBA players Demar DeRozan, Brandon
Jennings, Lance Stephenson and Jalen Suggs. Coaching inner city
youth basketball players was more than inspiring; he gave those young
men hope they could become successful in the NBA. Miller's impact
was met with admiration and respect from everyone who sought advice.

Upon being named the President of Basketball Operations, a position
he took at University of New Orleans. A program which won four games
in 2024-25. A new avenue for Miller in turning around a basketball
program; while adding new excitement to his beloved city. It's a full

circle moment for Miller, bringing a hustler's mentality and continuing to
give back to the community.

It's a testament to Miller's commitment in helping change the lives of
New Orleans. Rather you're young and trying to find a lane; or restarting
your life post retirement, Miller is the definition of evolving yourself.
Keeping God first and staying true to yourself can take you places and
spaces nobody could think of.

Miller is ready for this challenge in keeping five star recruits close to
home and building a stronger legacy. Opening the doors for NBA scouts
to see great college players take the courts. It won't be easy with how
the NIL money is raked in. This will be the biggest hurdle to overcome in
Miller's tenure. His name alone is revered as legendary. Having the
alumni put their money into rebuilding the program; while putting a
winning product on the court each week.

We've seen how the "Prime Effect" has taken everyone by storm via
Deion Sanders at Colorado; Miller is going to take the southern region
to new horizons in this same manner. The best is yet to come for
University of New Orleans Men's Basketball. It'll take time but give Miller
a chance to build a winning program. Once it takes off, don't say I didn't
tell you ahead of time. Congratulations Coach Percy Miller aka Master P
and University of New Orleans Men's Basketball.
