My next guest suffered a tremendous loss before she got pregnant. She searched and searched for support. Everyday was a task. Some of us know with grief it can be hard to even do normal things in everyday life let alone being pregnant and having to take of you and a developing human!! She fought everyday and her heart still grieves for the loss she encountered. Here are some things that may help you if you're going through pregnancy after the loss of a dear loved one.
1. Emotional Support: It is crucial for pregnant individuals who are grieving to receive emotional support from loved ones, friends, or mental health professionals. Grieving during pregnancy can involve a range of emotions, including sadness, anxiety, and fear. Having a support system in place can help in processing these emotions and coping with the loss.
2. Physical Health: Grieving while pregnant can also have an impact on physical health. It is important to prioritize self-care, eat healthily, get enough rest, and attend prenatal appointments. Seeking medical advice from healthcare providers can ensure that both the emotional and physical well-being of the individual and the baby are taken care of during this challenging time.
3. Communication: Open and honest communication with partners, family members, and healthcare providers is key. It is essential to express feelings and concerns, ask for help when needed, and discuss any worries about the pregnancy. Effective communication can help in receiving the necessary support and guidance to navigate through the grieving process while being pregnant.
The hurt in your heart may live on but there will be good times then times of reflection on how your life once was with this person you love when they were earth side. As a woman of spirituality, I believe that our past loved ones welcome our children into the world before we even get a chance to see them. If I may put some of my input in on this, talk to them. I believe they can hear you. In my views they are with you every step of the way.
This is not to make light of how hard grief is but hopefully will shine even the tiniest of lights when it comes to having to navigate through this world without someone you never thought would have to leave your side. Sending so much love for everyone that has had and will have to go through this. Remember once someone holds a space in your heart, they never leave it.
