One of the dopest things you can do for others is help them define their own success. Sometimes your own definition of success is buried under trauma, surroundings, lack of belief, lack of knowledge, or a relationship (that you didn’t choose).
I visited my old high school and they were gracious enough to allow me to speak to the football team (on very short notice). I shared with them the mistakes I made while in HS, the relationships that I needed to break, and a conversation I had w/ a teacher that changed my life! I also asked them 5 questions that can help them find their own definition of success.
1. Where do you want to go?
2. Who do you need to become?
3. Are you ok becoming that person?
4. Who’s holding you accountable & do you trust them?
5. What am I willing to sacrifice & what type of discipline will it take to achieve it?
