On Episode 12 of our 45th federal general election coverage (AKA Episode 619 of The Daily Beaver Morning Show), it was a flurry of announcements over the course of the weekend, but the emerging issue is Conservative Leader Pierre Poilièvre's resistance to cutting ties, after losing 5 candidates so far, with candidate Aaron Gunn (among others like Andrew Lawton), widely recognized to be a residential school denialist. With the deadline being 2 p.m. today to replace a candidate, it looks like Poilièvre was way more willing, all along, to carry political deadweight than Liberals ever were.
We also look at attempts to smear Mark Carney with the issue.
Finally, party leaders are campaigning in Battleground B.C. today as softwood lumber tariffs are coming and the stock markets try to avoid a Black Swan Monday.
