Our guest today hails from Northern Ontario, and is a partner with Judson Howie LLP. He has been representing Rainbow Alliance Dryden in a defamation action in which the defendant filed an anti-SLAPP (strategic litigation against public participation) motion, which was denied by the presiding judge. The precedent-setting ruling makes it such that "groomer" slurs targeting members of the 2SLGBTQI and drag community "do not attract the protection of Ontario's anti-SLAPP laws.
