Well, Doug Ford has announced that tuition at the Ontario Police College is now free, and all you need is a High School (or equivalent...) Diploma... I'm all for free education, right across the board, so, I'm pretty ok with a PART of his announcement... It's complicated; not everyone can afford University, (it should be funded with our tax dollars), so, should we deny them the opportunity to pursue a career in law enforcement? It's not a cut and dried issue... The current cost of tuition for the 3 month course is... wow, it's expensive, much more than I thought: $15 450.00 THAT is not what I would consider to be... affordable. What does a YEAR of University cost in comparison? Seriously, I am asking, I've no idea...
