Well, Doug Ford wants to build a tunnel under the 401. A 50km tunnel, with a transit rail link. The longest tunnel in the world is 24.5 km, it's in Norway. It took them 5 years to build it.
Doug's justification is to alleviate traffic, here's the thing, the 407 exists. All he has to do is remove tolls for trucks & the problem is solved. But no, doug needs to do something big! Needs to stroke his own ego, an also put billions of dollars into the pockets of his developer buddies in construction...
