Eirene Tran Donohue, who penned the film’s script for Netflix said that “A Tourist’s Guide to Love” is based on the aftermath of a real-life breakup that occurred right before a five-week trip to Vietnam. Netflix is gearing up on April 27, 2023 for the release of “A Tourist’s Guide to Love,” a romantic comedy set in Vietnam that stars '90s teen icon Rachael Leigh Cook.
Eirene is currently developing original movie projects with Freeform and Lifetime, while also developing her spec feature TIME OUT with Lucy Liu, who is attached to direct. Eirene wrote the YA-adaptation DRINK, SLAY, LOVE for executive producer Bella Thorne and Lifetime, and developed the original cable movie ROCK THE KITCHEN at Disney Channel.
Eirene also wrote LADIES MAN: A MADE MOVIE for MTV, and previously sold the feature comedy pitch GIRLS’ NIGHT OUT to Lionsgate with Laurence Mark Productions.
