Louie Nguyen is a seasoned global investor, with a particular focus on disruptive endeavors and mobilizing capital and human resources to solve community pain points. Prior to joining Mission Driven Finance, Louie founded Soledad Investment Management, where he made global investments including impact-oriented investments in Vietnam.
Earlier in his career, he worked directly with company founder Charles Brandes as an institutional portfolio manager for high-profile North American and Asian institutional clients at Brandes Investment Partners. In 2021, Mayor of San Diego Todd Gloria appointed Louie to the approximately $10 billion San Diego City Employees’ Retirement System, sitting on both the board and the investment committee.
He is also a board member of the Jacobs Center of Neighborhood Innovation, advising the Jacobs family on its mission of innovative community empowerment. Louie is a member of the investment committee for the Mingei International Museum and an advisory investment committee member for the Alliance Healthcare Foundation.
