Hieu Huynh-Gray is an award-winning Sr. Writer/Producer having previously worked at CNN with some of the network’s biggest stars like Anthony Bourdain and Larry King. She is now a filmmaker focused on Asian American narratives. Her latest documentary Quan 13 delves into the Vietnamese diaspora in Paris told through the lens of food. The film has screened both nationally and internationally including the Los Angeles Pacific Asian Film Festival and the DC Asian Film Festival. It is also nominated for Best Short Documentary at the Taste Awards with additional honors bestowed to Gray as the “Breakout Storyteller of the Year.”
Gray recently completed the producer’s program from UCLA’s School of Film, Theater & Television. She also holds an MFA in Creative Writing/Poetry from NYU’s inaugural low-residency program with workshops in Paris and a BA in Creative Writing and Journalism from Emory University.
An active member of the Asian-American community in Los Angeles, Gray is the VP of Marketing/Social at AAJA-LA (the Asian-American Journalists Association- LA Chapter) and is the 2020 Member of the Year.
