Mike Van is the current President of Billboard, an American music and entertainment entity that publishes and provides weekly music charts, news, video, opinion, reviews, events, and style related to the music industry.
Billboard publishes a news website and weekly trade magazine that cover music, video and home entertainment. It covers news, gossip, opinion, and music reviews, but its "most enduring and influential creation" is the Billboard charts. The charts track music sales, radio airtime and other data about the most popular songs and albums.
Its music charts include the Hot 100, the 200, and the Global 200, tracking the most popular albums and songs in different genres of music.
It also hosts events, owns a publishing firm, and operates several TV shows, including The Billboard Music Awards which honors awards given out annually by Billboard, covering the music business and music popularity charts. The Billboard Music Awards show had been held annually since 1990.
