EPISODE 3 - Facing the fear and battling the fear monsters

Hello my dear,

Thanks for tuning in for another episode.

Hopefully, you've had a chance to listen to Episode 1, the first official episode of the Tiaras Tears and Triumphs Podcast, in which I introduce myself, and tell you a bit about my journey through an abusive relationship, and what inspired me to put this Podcast together for you.

And if you haven't had a listen to Episode 2, I recommend you go back and listen to this too. In Episode 2 I look at things like the cycle of abuse and what that looks like, and I talk about the different forms of abuse and I ask where you are on the safety risk scale? I put on my serious hat in this episode, because I canvas textbook definitions of abuse and the serious issue of what this might look like for you or for someone you know.

I am so glad you found the show to help women to go from SURVIVING to RISING.

My aim is to make this a safe place for women who have been hurt by some form abuse, to heal and grow.

In this episode, the final episode in my launch episode series, I talk about fear and anxiety. I am more relaxed in this episode, which is kind of ironic when I am canvassing a subject about an emotion, which can leave us paralyzed like no other.

The reason I get lighthearted is because I relate my own experience with overcoming a non-dangerous fear of mine.

Fear monsters take on many different shapes and forms. Sometimes we can face our fears on our own and sometimes it is good to ask for some support.

I want you to know no matter how big your fears are, that you are  strong and courageous. I want you to know it takes so much strength to face the challenges you face.

I want you to know that there can be a way to address your fears and ways in which you can begin to overcome them.

I want you to know that everyone has fears. So please don't beat yourself up if you are struggling to overcome yours.

I want you to know that I am not here to tell you whether you should stay in your relationship or go.

I want you to know that I just want to be your support.

I want you to be able to see choices when there appear to be none.

Please know there is help out there for you and don't forget, I am here to support you.

I know what it is to feel alone and scared and not know where to turn. I don't want anyone to suffer alone in silence.

Knowing from experience that meeting life's challenges head, feels much more manageable when we feel like we are being supported was my driving motivation to put this Podcast together.

If you are in an abusive relationship it is easy to become isolated from family, friends and community. I hope this Podcast helps you feel connected, encouraged, inspired and supported.

Now more than ever before, as we face the impacts of the global health pandemic in 2020, it is clear that we are all more physically isolated from the outside world.

And the pressures this has created for many is seeing a rise in women suffering from abuse.

With all these reasons, it just made sense to me to use a show like this, where you can pop in your headphones and tune in anytime, to tap into some support.

Please tune in whenever it is safe for you to listen.

Your safety is the most important thing to consider.

If at any time you are in immediate danger, please call the police.

Please keep in mind that I am new to this whole Podcasting thing, which means I am not going to get things perfect from day 1. Life experience tells me that I will improve with time. So please forgive me my flaws and know that I am and this Podcast is, a work in progress. Please know that my heart is in the right place and all I want to do is be your support.
