These are some of the ways you can use Canva to level up your podcast:

For podcast artwork

You've decided on a topic, written your podcast mission statement, and you're now ready to create your podcast artwork.  But you're not a designer and you're not yet ready to hire a professional.

Don't even worry about it. Canva can help you create stunning podcast cover art that will impress your audience. Best of all because you can design your artwork to industry specifications in Canva, you'll be able to create a design that is compliant.

You can use Canva's enormous stock of design elements to incorporate your own ideas into your cover art so you can stand out from the crowd.

Best of all you can do it all with the free version.

Repurpose audio & video clips

This is one of my favorite ways to use Canva. I use it to create custom graphics, add audio, and photos of my guests.

No longer do I have to pay extra for another app to create the waveform to post podcast clips.   I record my podcast on Riverside.fm.  The recordings are both audio and video. You can also create clips of your video and download them into Canva to create social media posts.

But if you don't record your podcast with Riverside.fm, you can create video clips in the Pro version of Canva.

I use Canva to combine my video and audio clips with graphic elements provided on the platform.  You can even record your own voice directly into your design without leaving the platform.

Did I mention one of the reasons why it’s so much easier is because of the vast array of templates available?

Create blog post graphics

Many online tools can give you royalty-free graphics for your project. But that’s where the fun ends.

Use your podcast show notes and transcripts to create blog posts that will inform your audience as well as give them another way to consume your content.

With Canva you can create blog graphics using templates, photos, and elements. You can even upload your own photos and artwork. That way you can customize your template to match your podcast branding.

And the options are almost endless if you have Canva Pro. But you can make impressive graphics with the free version as well.

Design social media posts

Canva inspires content creators to create breathtaking designs for their podcasts.  So when you’re ready to share your awesome content with the world, you can create and upload your designs directly to Facebook, Pinterest or wherever your audience hangs out. You will just need to give Canva access to your accounts. It’s easy and makes posting your podcast episodes to your social media audience seamless.

For the new and upcoming podcaster, Canva Pro makes it easy to create marketing campaigns that will help your podcast grow! You can now design a powerful social media campaign tailored directly to your brand.  AND it also provides a way for you to collaborate with your team seamlessly right on the platform.

Assemble videos & thumbnails for YouTube

Create stunning YouTube thumbnails, intros and outros for your video podcast with Canva Pro.  When you use Canva to design your podcasting branding, you can repurpose each of your designs into new templates depending on your needs.

You can download music from the YouTube media library, upload it to Canva, then incorporate it into your YouTube video as well.

In addition, Canva Pro helps create awesome YouTube intros and outros including animated elements like subscribe and ringing notification bells.

In addition, you can create stunning thumbnails that incorporate your own original graphic elements or use any of the thousands of elements available on Canva.

You can also access royalty-free photos and videos from platforms like Pexels and Pixabay right in your Canva dashboard.  How sweet is that?

Schedule content

As I mentioned earlier Canva incorporates a content marketing calendar in its interface.

You can schedule your social media posts ahead of time just like you would with any social media scheduler.

Use this built-in content marketing calendar so you can post consistently.

Create, schedule, and get back to podcasting. It’s easy and you can post while you sleep!

Create freebies & giveaways

I love to give my audience free stuff! I like to add a freebie such as a cheat sheet, template, or checklist at the end of my blog posts.  I even sometimes mention them in my podcast episodes and provide a link in my show notes to an opt-in.

Canva provides hundreds of templates that give you the option to create jaw-dropping freebies you can offer your audience.

These free downloads add value to your content and make it easier for your audience to consume what you have so lovingly created for them.

If you use Canva Pro you can design ebooks and low content products. Products such as journals and planners make handy giveaways.  And provide a way for you to monetize your podcast content and ideas.

You can even create these products to sell on platforms like Amazon KDP.
