In 1912, one of the worst catastrophes in the history of mankind took place. Approximately 1,500 people lost their lives in the icy waters when the Titanic struck an iceberg and went down. It was the maiden voyage of this massive ship. It was lauded as one of the greatest ships ever made. The people arrogantly boasted that "not even God Himself could sink it". With this statement being made, the doom of this ship was inevitable.
Some of the most wealthy and powerful of the day were on the Titanic for its maiden voyage. Truly, history would be in the making, but not in the way they were thinking. As it would happen, late in the night, under an unusually blackened sky, this massive ship struck an iceberg. The damage was so great, that the Captain, realizing that it could not be saved, gave the order to "abandon ship".
Interestingly enough, in the midst of glorying in the greatness of the ship, the thought of adding adequate lifeboats seemed to have slipped their minds. Surely we don't need lifeboats, they thought, because this boat is to great to sink. Professing to be wise, they became fools, as they waved their fists at the Most High. In looking at the outcome of this, there was no other way that this could have ended. Titanic sank to the abyss, never to see the light of day again, taking with it 1,500 passengers.
As I look at the direction we are headed as a nation, my mind reflects on the tragic events that took place on that fateful night. Just as the makers of the Titanic boasted in their greatness in the face of God, our leaders today are doing the exact same thing. We have taken the truths of God and turned them into lies. I look at how Torah makes it clear that YHVH created male and female, but we, in our foolishness have decided that what YHVH designed as a woman, is a man, and what He designed as a man is a woman.
We turn our little boys into little girls, and vice versa, and then praise them as they walk in error. In many cases, countless churches have embraced this lie, and made it their truth. Pastors avoid addressing this issue for fear of being cancelled. For the most part, the more larger churches have chosen to cater their sermons in a manner that is not offensive to these people.
There are so many other areas that could be touched on, in addition to this, but the one that needs to be addressed more than anything is our political climate. I am more than sure that what we have become as a nation is NOT what the founding fathers envisioned as we began to be a nation. Our "two party" system was never intended to be this divisive. When looking at how far apart the two parties are in ideals, it has come to a point that we can no longer come together in a civil matter and have dialogue.
Both parties have become like gangs. Growing up in L.A., I'm reminded of the tension between crips and bloods. These gangs were so diametrically opposed to one another, that when they were in the presence of one another, a fight broke out, and most cases, lives were lost. Although the two parties haven't gotten to that point yet, we are not that far off. There have actually been some interesting cases over the past few years where some have been hurt or even killed by a member of the opposite party.
Again, my intention is not to be political, but I do want to address a major problem. As I look at the news, as depressing as it can be most of the time, I cannot help but notice how the party that is in the majority tends to go all out to destroy the other party. Politically, justice tends to favor those in the party of the majority, whereas it is open season for those in the minority. Here lie the problem.
When it gets to this point, the party in the minority tends to be on the offensive all the time, which makes the party in the majority feel justified in its attacks. This is not how justice is to work. Both sides need to be able to come together in a civil manner and reason together on issues and mutually come to a decision. And the decision should not be one based on favoring your party, but rather that which is right. This was how YHVH intended Israel to judge matters presented to them.
Justice is not about who is the richest, or most liked, or most powerful, but simply who is in the right. In system like this, the nation flourishes, but in the nation we have re-imaged, the opposite is true. No party is perfect, and as such, it is important to be unbiased in matters, especially when judging. But as it stands, if the person on trial is of one party, and the judge of the other, it is almost clear what the outcome will be.
All this to say, when looking at where we are, and watching the way the news gets reported, even the news we watch is biased towards a political party. I have come to a point where I find myself questioning this system of ours. I am starting to believe that both parties are 2 sides of the same coin. What do I mean by this? Whereas we thought they were opposite sides, they instead are on the same side, and as such, we are playing to a narrative that has us so focused on the wrong things that we miss what is really going on.
Yeshua said that a house divided against itself cannot stand, and I must say, this describes us on so many levels. He further states that a divided house will fall. That said, we are headed to a great fall in the not so distant future. I once thought that the answer lies in trying to fix our system, but at this point, I think we are way past the saving point, in terms of being a nation. Like the Titanic, we are going down fast. Trying to save our system is kind of like using buckets to empty out the water on a sinking ship. You may slow it down a little, but it will still go down, its just a matter of when, now or later?
So what now? What's the point of this blog? Really it's just a matter of pointing out that at this point, our focus needs to be on saving individual souls, as opposed to trying to save the ship. The ship is going down. We may not be able to save it, so lets focus on preaching the gospel and the saving others. I tell my kids all the time, don't just pray, but learn what you need to pray. I stopped praying for the nation a long time ago. I understood that while praying for the nation can be a good thing, it can also be against the will of YHVH.
I know, I just said something there huh? Well, lets break this open some more. We understand from Scripture that things have to get worse before Yeshua can return right? So if my prayers are that YHVH heals this nation, and things get better, then that makes Yeshua's return a little longer. I don't know about you, but I am ready for Him to return and fix everything we messed up. With this in mind, it makes more sense to just pray for the people in the world, that they may be moved by the Holy Spirit and receive Yeshua as Lord instead.
My closing thought on all of this is that pay more attention to the signs of the times, and become more diligent at being ambassadors for the Most High God. The harvest is plentiful but the laborers are few, so lets get out there!
