In this weeks episode, we discuss a few of the qualifications for the Levitical priest who served YHVH. One of the qualifications that stood out most was the prohibition on women they were forbidden to marry. Although the list of unqualified women fit to be wives for these priest were fit to be wives for the other tribes, it becomes apparent that it is about a clear distinction being made between the conduct of the priests and that of the laity. Just as there was a distinction between the Levites who served and the laity, there should equally be a clear distinction between church leaders and the laity. One of the most interesting qualifications for those who serve before YHVH deals with physical defects. YHVH makes it clear that no person with a defect is permitted to stand before Him. Could this be considered discrimination on the part of YHVH, or is there a deeper reason for this stance? Finally, we touch on the Biblical holy days in an attempt to dispel the myth held by many "believers", that these "holy days" are for the Jews only.
