Untold Story Of Emperor Georgiou To Be Told In ‘Star Trek: Section 31’ Comic Book Tie-In

IDW has announced the first merchandise tie-in for the Section 31 movie with what they are describing as an “exciting single-issue spin-off ” comic book set to be released on February 5th. Details on it are a bit scant right now, but here is the synopsis from IDW:

The issue features Emperor Philippa Georgiou on a brand-new, raucous, and exhilarating adventure.

It’s possible that the new comic could help fill in some blanks, notably what happened to Georgiou between when she was last seen traveling back in time from the 32nd century in Star Trek: Discovery season 3 and the events of the new movie, apparently set in the “lost years” of the early 24th century.

The new book is being written by Alyssa Wong in her first Star Trek outing, coming from Star Wars: Doctor Aphra for Marvel and Spirit World for DC. Art is being done by Megan Levans, who has been working on Trek comics for a decade, including the most recent arc of IDW’s ongoing Star Trek series.
