When it comes to having a VBAC , we really wanna look at the big picture. Ideally, we identify what the reason was for the first C-section and we try to avoid the pitfalls that we had with the first Cesarean birth. We look at what were all the metrics all the variables that we have control over and what do we not have control over when it comes to a VBAC and work with what we can change.
Most women can safely go for a trial of labor after a cesarean birth (TOLAC) and even their provider or OB/GYN tells them they are unlikely to be successful, they do not necessarily need to be deterred by a lower chance of success. Most women who attempt a VBAC are successful.
In this video, we discuss who is the most ideal candidate for a VBAC and who is most likely to succeed.
