San Mateo is susceptible to the heavy rains that are increasingly flooding communities in the U.S. West. So Tina led her team to better prepare San Mateo by cleaning out catch basins, preparing sandbag stations, and educating residents on steps they can take.
She also credits the leadership program at the Duke University Nicholas School of the Environment for her career growth.
