Nespresso Vertuo - Amazon Link <- Commissions earned
I recently bought the Nespresso Vertuo. The pic below is an espresso I made and enjoyed in the sunroom! The machine was very easy to set up and extremely easy to use.
The pods in the Vertuo are rounded and have a barcode around the rim. This code tells the machine what type and size of beverage you are making. The coffee/espresso is very creamy and has a light foam on the surface when brewed. I usually top mine with a splash of oatmilk (or any dairy of choice).
Ok, so why did I switch from Keurig to Nespresso?
I was feeling a bit guilty about all the K-Cup waste I was creating. I love the ease of just throwing in a pod and having a cup of coffee. I am the only hot coffee drinker in the house so I never use a full pot of coffee. Also sometime you need 2pm pick me up LOL. That said, Nespresso has a recycling program. When you order pods from their website they will send a prepaid bag for free. Once done with your pod you put them in the bag and ship them back to Nespresso for processing! If you happen to live in New York you can actually bring your used pods to the store and drop them off for processing. Click here to read more about this program and their status as a B corp.
