What is up everybody?
It is Thursday, which means it is podcast Q and A day.
And I love answering your questions.
Today's question is how do I choose a name for my podcast?
Which is a great question to ask, especially for a lot of you that are launching a brand new podcast in January, in 2025, which is an excellent time to, to launch a podcast.
And so we're going to talk about that.
And how would I answer this question?
Number one, you need to think about a couple of things.
If you already are pretty established as an influencer or you have quite a bit of big following already in your name, you can always use your name.
My only caveat here is that you have some sort of tagline that is going to tell your people what your show is about.
So if you have brand new listeners coming to find you, they open up their Apple app or their Spotify app and in the search bar they search your name or maybe the topic that you're going to be talking about around that topic.
So if you are a fitness coach having the word fitness inside of your podcast name or your tagline.
So if you are Jane Smith and then you're in, you are very well known in the fitness space already and you put a semicolon and then your tagline is the fitness mom routine, I don't know, I'm making something up right here.
The biggest thing is you do not want a cutesy name that people don't know how to find you.
So if you are just coming into the podcasting space and you have a cute name, or I'll give you an instance of with this podcast, Podcast Coaching for Kingdom Entrepreneurs.
I originally was called holistic podcasting.
Now there is a reason, there's a backstory of why I called it holistic podcasting and it's spelled with a W and holistic and then podcasting.
Now the story doesn't quite matter of how it got there.
It made sense to me when I started it in 2021, but it did not make sense to brand new listeners or people that were trying to find a podcast or a Christian podcast or podcast coach that talked about Christian principles inside of podcasting.
It did not make sense.
So that is why I rebranded last year to Podcast Coaching for Kingdom Entrepreneurs.
Because it, it made it very clear what I do.
I do podcast coaching for Kingdom entrepreneurs.
So maybe you are about to start a podcast and you have a cute name and that's something that you should think about.
It doesn't mean that it goes away completely.
If you wanted to move that to a tagline or maybe it is part of your title, your main title, but making sure that you have some sort of keyword that your brand new listeners can find you and they can go into their Spotify search bar, their Apple search bar and they will be able to find you.
A great example of this other than the example that I just gave you of me failing first with a cutesy name and then switching to a very specific name.
Another example would be a a couple of friends that started a podcast and they their business is centered around budget besties.
Now they have a podcast name that is financial coaching for women.
It makes sense.
What is it and who is it for?
And that is a brilliant way to name your podcast.
So sit there, think about whether you have a podcast or you are creating a podcast.
What is it and who is it for?
And how can you incorporate those keywords into your podcast so that you can be searchable, visible and discoverable inside of a podcasting app?
All right, that's my quick tip Thursday.
I hope that's helpful.
