Best Podcast
Erica Kelley could read case law out loud and make it interesting! These shows are well researched……I have been personally connected to one of these stories and found out more than I knew myself from this podcast. This is the only podcast I never miss…

Great Storyteller
Erica works hard to ensure the victims are not forgotten, she is willing to speak on the ugly parts of our society, and her voice is very soothing despite the nature of the stories.

Great podcast
Was recommended by fellow true crime followers and I love this podcast. Love the non nonsense style. Will recommend to others

lots of humanity...
she’s just the best…i love that she has a point of view and NEVER forgets the victims…plus she loves Dolly…just like the rest of us…

Excellent and on point!
Love Erica’s solid research and compassion for the victims and their families. Her worldview clearly shows an educated and progressive woman. Wonderful podcast. 10/10

Voice from the South
I love this podcast!!

Love love love
Erica’s voice is so relaxing to me. She does in-depth research on each case, and lets the listener come to their own conclusion. Erica makes me proud to be Southern.

Great story telling
Very annoying background noises

Love love
Living just an hour north of Nashville, I absolutely love her accent. It’s as though I’m listening to my neighbors tell a story. I listen while cleaning and doing outside gardening, mowing, chores and such. I look forward to each episode! I’m giving This podcast a five star rating!! Great job! Keep up the good work.

Dixie Mafia
Love your episodes but the Dixie Mafia episodes, I was hoping to hear about the Georgia version, Billy Sunday Burt and Billy Wayne Davis crew. I’ve heard other podcasts about them and they are very interesting.

The very best
I listen to five or so true crime pods. Find Ms Kelly shines at deep dive, vocabulary, lovely accent articulation and overall intelligence. Enjoy her occasional movie reviews which are occasionally relevant to case she’s discussing. And her southern expressions. Very charming.

Ok-if I’m murdered EK, I need you to tell my story.
Seriously, just listen to her. Her stories are so kind to the victims (that’s super important to me) and don’t glorify the violence (also super important). Her empathy is apparent in her voice and yes, I am southern so she she sounds like home. But before the naysayers write her off without giving a listen, EK is from TN so mostly just sounds like the voice I’d expect any glamorous woman to have in a velvet walled cabaret (whiskey and honey).

Don’t care for background music
I have been a listener for years, recently I notice I don’t enjoy listening because of the background music that has been added. I find it distracting and hard to concentrate on what is being said.

One of my favorites!
I admit, I am a true crime junkie. This show is one of the best. Erica is balanced in her presentations at the facts and manages to be compassionate toward both the victim and the perpetrator while recognizing how flawed human choices can really be. Her compassion is never maudlin and she doesn’t make excuses. Her stories are interesting and many of them are not heard on the other site. And I have to admit, I enjoy her drawl!

Solid Podcast
This is one of the best true crime podcasts I’ve listened to. Erica Kelley and the team are phenomenal when it comes to researching cases to present unbiased facts. Kelley’s opinions are, of course all hers, but they’re founded, articulated well, and offered with a bit of southern charm.

Podcast gets better and better if that is possible !
The research in Erika’s cases and the finesse in her telling the story is what separates her from the rest.

I thought I wrote a review already.
Good lord what is happening to my reviews!? I have fallen in love with Southern Fried as a new-ish listener, started listening about a year ago. I finally met Erica in person at a convention we had here in Texas and let me just tell you, she is the best. Real kind and humble. Her husband is super funny too. I really am so glad to have met them and had a chance to hug her!

Another View of the Facts of a Murder
Thank you for presenting the facts. I have read & heard those ‘other’ facts. The fact is those sworn to follow only the ‘facts & nothing but the facts’ are fallible, dishonest, conniving humans ~ their duty to truth & justice can become clouded by their personal ‘feelings’ The horrible truth is when these people are shown faults, holes, interview others & the case can fall apart, they will deny, deny, deny the truth sitting or staring them straight into their eyes & begin applying patches to all those holes, lies, new information. Why? Why? Let an innocent person serve long sentences or in cases face death than admit they were wrong. It never happens. There are innocent men & women, boys & girls in prison. You spoke for each one of those innocence doing time.

Wonderful voice for narration!!!
Love listening her even toned, southern accent as she develops these true stories.

Wow
I’ve never found a podcast that after one listen, I wanted to instantly binge ALL. Love all the history and town facts included , and a soothing voice with a good true crime story…that’s 👍🎉

Incredible Podcast
I absolutely love this podcast. It’s actually the podcast that got me into listening to podcast. I love that it covers the facts and only the facts!! Erica always starts my morning off right with a soothing voice to get me ready for the work day. southern Fried True Crime is one of my favorite podcast and I can’t wait for future episodes!!

Can’t wait!

Oh my Maude, you were there when i needed you.
Beautiful timing, it was a rough week and seeing three (THREE!) remasters waiting for me was just perfect. Bless your familiar cadence ❤️

Ethical
Ethical and brave podcast

lots of humanity...
she’s just the best…i love that she has a point of view…if you don’t like it…don’t listen…it’s simple…plus we all revere Dolly!

A Southern “Can not miss” podcast!!
I love this podcast!!! I love the background she gives about the places the cases took place in. She is the perfect marriage of Southern everything and true crime.

Excellent storyteller but lose the Muzak background
Great voice and excellent writing. My only criticism is the song playing in background. Its out of hand. It’s just strange to play it over and over and over under the narration, don’t understand why. I am curious since it adds nothing and is irritating (like Muzak, you can ignore it most of the time but other times the tune just plucks at my nerves). Why is it there? Why do you think anyone needs to hear it non stop on repeat? Do you think it’s that good? Did one of your kids write it? Do you want to irritate your listeners? Did someone tell you it makes your podcast better? When I can’t ignore it I just have to turn this off. I don’t get it! I do appreciate your storytelling. I love how racist white listeners just hate freedom of speech when they don’t agree with you.

Great pod
But that weird slow repetitious background music has gotta go.

A truly great podcast
I’m ashamed as a born and raised Southerner it took me so long to listen to this podcast but I’m so glad I did. Erica’s episodes manage to be objective, yet meaningful, and she never forgets to center the victims in her stories. I also enjoy how she gives background information about the towns where her cases take place, it gives important context to what the victim’s lives were actually like. Although she protests making her multi-part episodes (for good reason), I’d listen to an entire serialized podcast in her honey-smooth voice. Frankly, it’s refreshing to hear someone discuss people and places in the southeast US without collapsing into caricature.
